Gavnø Forest District

Gavnø Forest district is approx. 1,000 hectares and has specialised in delivery of forest products of almost every kind. We have a close co-operation with sawmills and many years of experience working with different forest products. We offer you firewood, self logging, and gathering of wood without expensive connection links. It is possible to ride in the forest district. Read the further details about riding rules below.

Firewood

We offer you stems, and branches from older trees, among otheres confier wood and hardwood timber. The firewood is hardwood tree and is 2.7 m long and has diametre of 30 – 100 cm. you will find the hardwood on tracks in the forest districts. It is possible to buy hardwood the whole year as long as we have a stock.

You would have to cut and split the firewood yourself and if you prefer to you can do it while you are in the wood. All the woodpiles are situated in such a way that it would be possible for you to enter the forest by car and a trailer. Transport can be arranged. You can gather your own firewood from medio January – April.

You would have to cut and split only the trees with marks on and transport the wood yourself to a car trail. Some areas are only possible to pass by tractor.

Riding in the forest

You can ride in the beautiful surroundings at Gavnø Estate.

You are allowed to ride in the Gavnø forest surroundings from 5 a.m. – 7 p.m. and in the winter season from sunrise to sunset.

Please send your personal details, name, address, social security number and passport foto (likeness) to Secretary Lene Møller Hansen, Gavnø Godskontor, Gavnø 2, 4700 Næstved. Please Mark the envelope “Riding”.

• 12 months DKK 1,000.00 each person.
• 6 months DKK 600.00 each person.
• Day-card/Guest-card DKK 50.00 each person.

Please notice that you will have to pay a penaltly of DKK 500.00 for riding without a valid card!

Summer pasturing

We can offer you summer pasturing in the period from 15 May – 15 October.

• Summer pasturing with a riding card DKK 500.00 per month.
• Summer pasturing without a riding card DKK 550.00 per month.

Please notice that the owner of the horse is the one who is responsible for looking after the horse!
