Exotic butterflies
In the House of Butterflies one can experience more than 600 exotic butterflies, which flies freely in the tropical climate.
Every week in the period from 1 may – 31 August more than 200 new butterflies arrive, as their life cyclus only is approx. 1 week. There are more than 60 different species of butterlies in House of Butterflies.
The butterflies are imported from the far East, South America and Afrika. The chrysalis are hatched after 2 – 6 weeks. The butterflies are all “produced” in captivity.
The hatched out butteflies eat the nectar from the flowers in the green house and some places ony find extra feeding places with extra nectar. The caterpillars, which are kept in closed cages untill they hatch, eat leaves.
